The open-source design editor our free Learn Figma course runs in. It works the way Figma does, so you learn Figma by doing: every lesson watches what you do and ticks each step off when you get it right.
No download, no account. 25 hands-on lessons open now.
Why a separate editor
Because FigCraft is open source, our lessons can read your file as you work and tell you, the moment you get it right, that you did.
Stuck? The lesson draws a ring around the control you need, or does the step for you so you can watch, then try it yourself.
The toolbar, layers, Design panel and shortcuts sit where Figma puts them, so what you learn carries straight over.
How a lesson works
The lesson sits beside the editor. A small tutorial bridge passes messages between them a few times a second: the lesson sets up the starting file, reads what you’ve changed, checks it against the step, and shows you where to click.
Honestly
FigCraft is an early, community-built project. It covers the basics you need to learn interface design, and very little of what makes Figma the tool teams use every day. Think of it as a practice room, not a replacement. Down the road it may grow into a lightweight design tool, like the other open-source tools below, but that’s a long way off.
